Hi Scotty
I have a 1999 Dodge Dakota that while driving it stalls. Sometimes it turns on immediately and sometimes it takes up to 50 minutes. I’ve been struggling with this issue for about a month. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
You should never put your email address on a public forum.
Get it scanned for codes and report back.
Okay thanks.
Also, check for correct fuel pressure, clean the injectors and get a new fuel filter.
Okay but I was told by O’Reillys that this truck does not have a fuel filter the fuel pump has a strainer inside of it.
Good morning.
So I took the car to emissions today well the truck and it passed
Can you think of anything else it could be?
Did you measure fuel pressure like Doc suggested?
The fuel filter is part of the pump in the tank.
I took the pick up to emissions this morning and it passed
Excellent!
Good morning. Can you think of anything else it could be? So last year on May 8 my house burnt down. The two remotes that I had for the alarm system also burned in the fire. Could the short possibly be in the alarm system? Also while the truck is turned on I’m able to remove the key from the ignition. Could that possibly be why it stalls out? I haven’t even been able to work because of this issue.
Are there any codes? O'Reilly swill scan it for you for free.
Good morning.
I took it to Auto Zone- no codes.
