hey Scotty, my 2003 corolla has a high idle on a cold start at about 2000 rpms. what could be the issue??

It is normal for a car to idle high on a cold start as that is how it warms itself up as if it idled normally on a cold start the engine would likely die. However, if it still idles around 2k rpms after its warm then you might have a problem with your idle air control valve.

check for codes, if anything feels strange or odd you should never drive the vehicle, it can become a life threat. stop and hire a mechanic to check it before you damage the engine or transmission
