Hi Scotty,
I’m a big fan of yours from the west coast of Canada. I have a two owner 2003 Nissan Maxima GLE with 160,000kms on it. It was made in Japan and has a 10/10 interior and a 9.5 exterior. I love the car but it has a weird issue where the radiator fans kick on high and stay on high even in zero degree weather. The temp gauge inside the car is at normal and the car isn’t overheating as far as I can tell. I’ve had the radiator fan assembly replaced, the coolant temp sensor and had all the rad fan relays checked. I’m losing a little but of coolant and can’t find a leak. I thought it might be a head gasket starting to leak bud has the chemical test and it was negative.
My Nissan dealer has looked at the car and said the ecu is sending the correct signals so I’m at a loss. I recently read about a faulty pressure sensor located on the air conditioning condenser in a Mercedes do a similar thing but I can’t find any info about a 2003 Maxima with this issue. I love the car but I can’t keep throwing money at it. I would love to keep it for another 100,000kms but I can’t live with the fan noise.
Thank you!
Will
Well yeah faulty pressure sends a good do it on the AC. It thinks that it's getting the wrong pressures and it turns the fan on. Could also be. Of course I wiring a relay problem too and the fan system
