Why SUV should I buy

Hey everyone, I have an almost 300,000 miles GX470 2006 has been very good to me in the past 3 years and very hesitant in changing it as it is my only car and daily driver. Only con is lousy gas mileage but it is expected for a V8 car this size. I want to change to something more economical but also having 7 seats and somewhat quite comfortable driving experience. My options are:

288,000 miles 2006 Highlander hybrid going for 5300$ approx negotiable.

Honda Pilot 2010-2012

Mazda Cx9 2008 going for 2500$ second owner done about 160,000 miles in pristine condition

What would be a better choice? To note highlanders are very rare here in gulf except newer models 2015 and above which are very expensive

You may get bad gas mileage, but how many times has something broken and cost you a lot of money? I have a 08 GX and it may get bad mpg, but doesn't surprise me with huge repair bills.

One comment on the cars you are looking at, that highlander is to be avoided. At that age and mileage, as it is a hybrid, it has a high risk of something very expensive breaking any day.

Honestly, even the pilot and mazda are not going to get you much better gas mileage than the GX, sure it will do a little better, but if the reason for the change is saving money, I don't see it.

True, there is another option I forgot to mention which is

Toyota Fortuner 2006 V6 4.0L same engine as the 4runner and it is done about 150,000 miles in Excellent condition

If you have to get it for the 7 seat capacity, it may be a decent change. It won't get any better gas mileage than the GX, if it is basically a 4th gen 4Runner. Should be as reliable as the GX, more so due to mileage I would think, if it has been taken care of.
