Any helpful info will be appreciated...
My 04' Highlander started shutting down at random a few months ago. The ECM (computer) received a software upgrade/computer re-boot 3/26. Since then the car runs & drives fine, but it still randomly shuts down briefly while driving, and immediately comes back on. Kind of feels like I tapped the breaks. When it happens, gauges drop to "0". Connections of everything have been checked for corrosion/conduct by mechanics to my knowledge, but something is getting missed. Replacing the ECM has been suggested.
Would love to hear your thoughts.
Thank you,

Well everything goes to zero so that means you lose power. Pray it's something simple. Like a bad ignition switch. I've seen that do that. Anything that makes it lose power like battery alternator can do that. But then again if it was the battery or alternator wouldn't restart once it stalled and if it does restart then the sum type of short that's losing power like ignition switch or computer module that shuts power down
