Hello everyone how's it going? 2001 Honda Civic LX 5-Speed about to go on 166K miles. So I noticed there was leaking from under for the past 4 days and couldn't figure out where it was coming from so I thought okay let me go get Head Gasket Seal just incase that's blown and put coolant back in. Well as days went by it was still leaking so it came today after driving I popped the hood got out quick and opened up to see what it was and what I see there's coolant spraying from the pipe behind the thermostat housing and the hole is near behind the engine block. I have my car parked in a garage until me and my dad can get to it and am going to drive my sisters Envoy for now but my question to you all is can the hole have come from too much pressure? I do still have a Cold Air Intake installed and my dad thinks too much pressure from the Intake was the cause. What do yall think?
You can upload the picture to imgur or postimages & then paste the link here.
Bet
do you mean pipe, or hose? Did you take a picture?
No, it has nothing to do with your intake. The pressure is regulated by your radiator cap.
I call it a pipe due to how hard it is and I did take a pic just having issues uploading to computer. I can post once I do and alrigh I'll let my dad know that wasn't the cause.
Intake pressure is not going to do that find where the correct is Play it's the housing on the thermostat that's gone and not the head gasket blowing or the head cracked pressure tested to find out
Will do. I'll post a pic if I can get it uploaded
