Hi Scotty,

I drive a honda civic 2018 lx 2.0 engine with 55,000km. I usually do not switch to 6th gear because the engine gets louder and it revs up to 4,000RPMs so I usually drive the car in 5th gear and always stay on the speed limit. 112km/h(maximum).

Should the vehicle rev that much in 6th high gear?

Thanks

It does not make sense that your car revs higher at higher gear maintaining the speed. Are you sure you go to the 6th not the 4th?

6th gear, I'm sure

What speed are you going while in 6th?  Does your speed stay steady or start to slip? More information is needed. It almost seems like 6th might be going out, but I could be wrong.

I usually like to switch from 5th to 6th at 100km/h.
When I clutch down to change gears I don't throttle so I lose some speed.
When i shift to 6th there is that slight forward jerk you get when you get when you switch to a higher gear but then I find the engine getting louder and at 4000RPMs
