I have a friend with a 2010 Honda CRV With four-wheel-drive. The transmission is taking too long to shift and is holding a high rpm for too long before shifting. The vehicle has been brought to two different dealers who said there’s nothing wrong with it. But the driver knows how the car should feel and when it should shift. Any ideas what the issue might be?
How is ATF level and quality? How many miles on it?
First of all, find yourself a trusted good mechanic near you. Dealers obviously want to a. say nothings wrong or b. make you do uneeded repairs so the service center brings in $$$$. You can find a list of them in the FAQ.
Check at your ATF. Is it burnt? Is it the correct color? Does it need to be changed?
Many Hondas from that era also have bad shift solenoids it could be that. Start with the simple stuff first.
