Hey Scotty, I was wondering how real are the Honda Civic FK8 Type R’s shift notching problem? I finally got a good job and I’m saving for one.

I haven't had problems the ones I drove but of course people trying those things like maniacs and they'll break anything eventually by driving stupid

All the reviews I’ve read still indicate in the 2017-2020 Civic Type R’s there is still an issue where occasionally it produces a grind when shifting into second gear, either up from first or down from third. This can happen even with the clutch depressed fully, in both high-performance and relaxed-driving situations. You may want to look at the Civic Type R forum to see how owners are dealing with it.
