My parents have a 2009 Honda Odyssey, it has almost 200k miles. The a/c is not very cold, and the driver’s side is only hot air even on the lowest setting, and at night it blows ice cold. What could be wrong?

Have you checked the refrigerant? It could be as simple as you might be to low.
Yes, at least the low side with a gauge on a refrigerant can.

Likely low on refrigerant. Those "recharge" cans with the cheap low side gauge are basically useless, you need a manifold gauge set for a proper diagnosis.
