Hello, recently I have replaced the tailgate with a power lift on 2012 Honda Pilot touring. before I replace it, the tailgate was working fine. after replacing the whole tailgate, the car sees the tailgate open all the time even if I closed it manually. when I try to close it manually and use the remote to open and close the tailgate, it opens but when I push to close it, it gets to the latch then peps and open on its own. on the dashboard it sees it open all the time. ?
it seems like need to reset the ACU or the power tailgate ?
Well when you start replacing factory equipment with that power gate there's no saying how that's going to affect the sensors on the vehicle. But somewhere there has to be sensors that showed that it's open or closed. I would just make sure that those are still working and are connected and actually touch anything opens and closes so the computer would know. I've never actually fussed with one of those things, but I would assume it's a relatively simple system to find where the switches are
I would go back over the instructions that came with the kit to make sure I did everything correctly. If that fails, I would contact the manufacturer of the unit for help and troubleshooting.
