Honda Ridgeline 2018 Transmission Problem

Hi, Scotty, have 2018 Honda Ridgeline with 76,000 miles. Changed transmission fluid at 40k. About a month ago when starting I heard a pop and the electrical panel looked as if it it was having a seizure and the vehicle would not start. Change the battery and everything was working fine. Then I noticed that the transmission light keeps coming on on the highway only after driving for about five minutes. Took it to the Honda dealer and they checked it out and said everything looks good, drive great and bring it back if the light comes back on. Light back on and brought it back. They changed the transmission fluid and found no large shavings. Cleared the code and said it drives great and should be good to go. Light came back on and now they are saying I need a whole new transmission. Vehicle drives as good as the day I bought it. No slipping, increased RPM, decreased gas mileage, or weird sounds. Feel like there is an electrical problem somewhere and I’m getting the run around. Hooked it up and got P0741 code (Torque converter stuck, fail). Just seems strange, what do you think. Thank you.

Are you serious? If you talk about shaving, your transmission was physically damaged at that time.

Take the car to a transmission shop and have them check it. Avoid dealers as much as you can.

There was no shavings. So no physical damage to the transmission.

Since it's not a manual, LACK of shavings means nothing.

The codes means "TCC disabled", in other words it can't lock up the torque convertor. Go to someone who knows how to work on these kinds of transmissions, not that many people know how to work on a Honda RWD automatic.
