What are yalls thoughts on the ridgelines and is the best truck great for daily driving and reliability?
It is not a "truck" first of all lol
If you're never going to put anything heavier than 100 pounds in the bed, it's ok. For towing and actual truck use, tacoma or tundra all day.
The new redesigned ridge line is what I’d look for if I was going to buy one. It’s Honda’s wanna be truck. The motor is solid and the automatic transmission is not bad either. I believe it will outlast any of the American companies trucks by a long shot.
Ridgelines have great road manners, but lack ground clearance for any serious off-road adventures.
More like a sturdy SUV, with the added bonus of a bed for hauling gardening supplies and project lumber.
The 2017+ Ridgeline is not body on frame like other conventional trucks; it’s unibody with fully independent suspension and rides more comfy than the other trucks. It’s towing capacity is 5,000 lbs. FWD is standard, but you can opt for AWD (which is not true 4WD if you need that). Ground clearance is less than the midsize trucks at just under 7.5”. If I needed something to tow more or go off-roading, I would go with a Tacoma or Tundra. Also, the engine is the 3.5L V6 (J35Y6) which has cylinder deactivation which will wear out/damage the engine over time. Yes, you could disable it via an aftermarket Dongle (disables via software only) but the hardware is still there. For longevity, I would look at a Tacoma instead.
