Honda Weakness

Topic starter

Of all the things that Honda has done over the years, why haven't they made a V8 engine, a full-sized car (before the SUV craze) or a full-sized SUV? Also how come they prefer FWD cars over RWD cars?

Is Honda trying to be unique than the other car manufacturers? They succeeded in a way.

Honda started life as a motorcycle company. And came to the American market with compact and subcompact cars. And fuel efficient (for the time) and emissions compliant cars to say the least.

They focus on reliability and efficiency. When they were developing the NSX vs a Ferrari V8, they decided to see how much power and efficiency they can get out of a V6, all while going toe to toe with the Ferrari V8.

I believe the NSX is also RWD.

But it is true they focus mainly on FWD, as IMHO, it’s their target market.
