What do you guys think of Honda's decision to put the new DOHC V6 (j35y8) in 2023 Honda Pilot instead of the older V6?

The J series has a long history. The latest iteration seems to improve subtly on previous versions in terms of HP output, but on paper it looks almost the same as previous iterations. My biggest concerns are still VCM. I don’t really know if Honda solved the VCM potential problem of premature wear. The other thing I’m not a fan of is direct injection. Lastly, that timing belt is still a belt, TMK. It would probably take a major shift for Honda to move away from timing belts in their v6.
Yeah I agree. I hate they still put VCM in their vehicles still. Thank you for answering.
