I've seen this code on many used 2016 Toyota Rav4s. And many owners never did anything about it, is it something serious or would it prevent you from buying a car with this on its autocheck?

It's an advisory that if a smaller batter is used, there is a chance the positive terminal can come in contact with the hold down bracket and cause a spark and fire.  Either use the correct size battery or, if using a smaller one, make sure the hold down bracket is tight enough so the battery can't move.

make that battery.

Oh Gotcha! Thank you very much for the explanation!

It's an advisory, not a recall.

So what I don't understand is if is this an issue that can or should be fixed or just an advisory on what should be done ?
