I have a 2020 A4 that gets less than 5000 miles/year put on it. It sits in a garage in NYC for up to six weeks at a time without being started or driven. Can this affect its long term reliability? Currently has 7500 miles on it, and I do the recommended maintenance every year regardless of mileage.
It isn't ideal, but if you drive it long enough for it to fully warm up every six weeks, you should get a lot of years out of the car.Get a battery tender - your battery will always be ready to go, and last longer. Put Sta-Bil (or similar) in your gasoline so the gas doesn't gum things up (dang that ethanol). Get a 12 volt compressor so you can top up your tires after it has sat for a while. Use a car cover if you want the car to be clean when you're back in town.

Yes. They are machines built to move.
would taking it for a spin for a few miles a week make a difference
It would, but you really ought to go for at least half an hour to get it properly hot.
Thanks guys.. would taking it for a spin for a few miles a week make a difference?
