I am looking at small cheap cars to get me to school and work, and currently there is one that is catching my eye as having some potential. There is a 2000 ford focus zx3 auto with 170k miles near me for $1000 dollars, but it needs a good cleaning. I am able to detail cars fairly well, so that wouldn't be an issue for me and a way to talk them down on price. it appears that it has been sitting for a little bit given the state of the exterior of the car. I know these cars really aren't worth a whole lot, and I know they can kinda be money pits but just for something to get me to school and work that I can drive until the transmission goes out I think this might work. Im curious how much I should offer given these factors. I was thinking 700 max given what I know about it.
Thanks for reading.
$5.
In all likelihood you will be immediately spending more money on getting it roadworthy enough to drive than the car is worth.
Offer $400 and see what they say......
