How often to change oil in 2024 Toyota Corolla?

Hi,

I purchased a new 2024 Toyota Corolla and the dealership told me to have the oil changed every 10k miles - is this okay? As I used to changing the oil every 3k-5k in my non-Toyota cars.

Thanks!

Not OK. Forget everything you hear at the dealership. 5k. Check our FAQ we a have a whole article about changing oil.

I don't care what anyone says. I know oils have improved over the years.

I still drive a 2001 Ford Ranger.

I've always changed the oil every 3,000 miles.

Oil and filters are cheap.

You want your engine to last  23 years?

3,000 mile oil changes, is your best hope

@jack62 the oils have improved, but so have the engines (at least in the case of Toyota. GM and Ford, not so much and we all know Chrysler wasn’t any good in the first place.) 3000 is best on something like your old ranger, especially if you’re using conventional, but I would say 5-7k in synthetic on a modern engine which basically all new cars use synthetic now and maybe up to 8k if there’s lots of highway driving involved but still 5k is best and easier to remember. And if you have a GDI turbo, definitely 5k
