My 2007 audi a4 quattro was leaking coolant. So I had my mechanics replace a coolant flange/ heater hose but a piece of the coolant flange fell into the engine block. So now my car is not drive able at all! I hope the whole transmission doesn't have to be removed! Any idea on how to get that out?

did it fall into the crankcase, or a coolant passage?
Seems to me that it's the mechanic's responsibility to extract it.
