Hyundai 07 4 cylinder longevity

Scotty,

Absolutely love what I’ve learned from you. And, I watch every YouTube videos.

I purchased my 07 Hyundai Sonata GL 4 Cylinder New. I’m 75 years old so yes I drive like an old grandpa. I drive less than 2500 miles a year. Change my oil and filter every 3000 or within a year as you suggest.

Ive only put new tires, brakes, rotors, and a couple hoses that developed a leak during that time. I wax the car at least 3 times a year and have cared for several things to keep car running well as you suggested. Currently I have 71,000 miles on the car. Most of which were highway and prior to my retirement 9 years ago.

Sorry for the long details. But, what can I expect for longevity on my car?

Thanks so much.

Richard

the Sonata is actually a pretty good car to baby like you're doing. I have a friend who has the 07, and has driven it to california from WNY a few times.

The thing you'll have to worry about on longevity is rust eventually. Stuff like Exhaust gaskets might rust together over time, from water.

Good habits are going to be, letting it warm up before you push it to high RPM's. Listening for wheel bearings / CV joint / Shock noises. No reason that car can't go the distance.
