Hyundai Elantra O2 Sensor

Hi.

My daughters car is a 006 Hyundai Elantra 2.0 Auto with 116 000 miles. Her ECL is illuminated and a mechanic told her that she has a problem with her O2 Sensor system. He said that to cure the problem he would have to replace numerous parts, as it would difficult to pinpoint the problem. I used my cheap scan tool and pulled these codes.

P2237, P2231, P0170, P2414, P0171 and p2626.

The car does revert to Limp Mode and is reset by switching the ignition off then on. The check light resets using my scan tool.

Please can you give me an opinion as to what may be causing the issues.

Kind Regards

Take it to better mechanic. Usually it's just a new sensors. New around 17.00 under hour to replace .

Check these links below:  scroll down to the Causes section.  But it seems the 02 sensor could be one of the culprits.  But start there first.  If you are mechanically inclined, you can try some of the troubleshooting steps on those links yourself to get a better idea.
