I bought my 2006 Avalon in November of 2005. i learned recently that there was a recall on the dashboards because they had a tendency to crack for no reason. I have always had my dash covered with a mat so I never noticed the cracking. Plus the mat actually prevented the cracking from occurring as early as many of them did. I was never notified of the recall and now I learned that the time is up and now I am stuck with a severely cracked dash. The dealer says I am out of luck because the recall has expired. I'm wondering if I wrote the company or called them if they would make an exception and fix my dash since they never bothered to notify me of the recall.
I would call the Toyota HQ and explain the situation. They usually take care of the situations.
