I have a 2011 toyota corolla s 117000 miles, bought the car a year ago had bad rotors so the dealership grinded down one side but not the other, sometimes when I brake the car will drop a gear but only when i brake going down hill?
@trevman93
is it not supposed to downshift? What is your question?
It downshifts when tapping the brakes and when it does it will stay around 3k rpm and hesitates to go into 4th gear when it does that.
It shouldnt be revving up when braking right? Only does it sometimes usually when young down hill never does it uphill
Which dealership only resurfaces ONE side??

Both should be ground to have the same/similar surface, or they should install new rotors...one or the other. You gotta accomplish the same amount of friction. Glazing on the unground rotor will have enough different friction that havoc results. Of course in their defense in 10 to 20k miles, they will have the same friction. Are you willing to drive that way for that long a time? I'm not, what about you?
@dougkahn
Yeah I know I tried to tell them that but do you think that's what causes it to drop a gear when braking?
