Hi Scotty. Jay here. I told you about my 1st Toyota (05 Sequoia) I bought just a bit ago with 212k+ miles. I lied... my 1st Toyota was a Corona. I forgot my Father gave me one when I was about 12 years old (early 70's) to use as a field car. We lived out in Java Lake NY Waaay out in the country. The radiator was shot so I took the radiator from my Dad's 8N Ford tractor and used wire clothes hangers to hold it in place. It ran FOREVER! Can you please talk about the Corona's. I also had a rear engine Simca!
Haha!... field car. That's awesome, I wish I had that.
I think Scotty did talk about the Corona in his historical video series episode about Toyota.
That’s awesome. Great story.
My mom had a ‘73 Corona (same color as below) that figures prominently in our family lore...
My grandfather was a bus mechanic. Once we went on vacation and left the car at his house (in Ventura, CA) to rebuild the motor. When we got back, he walked out the front door with a box of “extra parts” that he wasn’t sure what they were for. Needless, it ran great for several years afterwards until we traded it in on an ‘81 Chevette. (What can I say, my family has great taste in cars)
