I'm thinking of getting some type of Subaru that's 4 doors. I was thinking of a Subaru WRX STI but I do not know what year is best. I want a used one. Not a new one though. 2011 Is as new as I will go. I want a manual. Also, if you can list the models then lmk because I know there are more like the impreza.
You may be taking a risk buying a used WRX STI. Those cars are generally owned by mod freaks that mod/tune the heck out of the car. And they tend to be driven hard as well. So a used one won't have as much life in it as a fairly new one.
Now I'm not saying to stay away from used ones (new STIs are pretty expensive). I'm just pointing out that IF you're considering a used one, do a thorough check on it and try to find out who the previous owner was and if they did anything to the car. I would look for one with low mileage.

Subaru is a brand that I would think long and hard about buying used, especially a WRX, STi or BRZ.
Scotty always says have a mechanic check the car out, before you buy it.. one important thing is, see when the timing belt was changed when you look at one. That's an interference engine
They can be good cars if they were taken care of and not completely thrashed on. But, most people who buy them usually modify or tune them so it is a bit of a risk. I would try finding one that was either owned by an older, more conservative driver or one that has lower miles. You will want to make sure the care was very well cared for - ask for service records. Also have a good mechanic inspect the car before you put any money down. They are really fun and pretty reliable cars if you can find a clean, stock example!
