Scotty,
I recently replaced my Idle Air Control Valve on my 1993 F150 5.8l with a new OEM one from FordPartsDirect. My engine was idling pretty high before and the new one didn’t help at all. I then unplugged it and my idle returned to normal and seemed to run better without it. I haven’t driven the truck yet much with the new one on, so should I drive more so that the computer relearns the idle speed or could I drive it without the IAC plugged in? Could there be something else causing the high idle? Thanks

I would drive the car with icv so the learning procedure can be done.
