Recently purchased a 99 corrola with 4age 20valve BT engine, and i seem to have a management light error code 33 which refers to 'iscv' , i work alot on my car but for this issue i had to find a reliable mechanic who did a temporary fix but 3 months later the check engine light was on again.
So im from south africa by the way and these sensors are expensive so i have removed and cleaned the iscv(idle speed control valve) and the vsv(vacuum switching valve) but still have the same problem, how would i know which needs to be replaced between the iscv and the vsv ?

Maybe ask him what the fix was and ask him to repeat it ?
