Hi scotty. I have a 2001 nb miata se with 123,345 miles. One day ago i took my car on a shop to get a new clutch replacement . The following morning, I drove it on the freeway on my way to work. After five minutes of driving, I noticed that even when my foot was off the gas pedal, my speedometer would not slow and would remain at 80 mph. The weird part is when i exited the fwy, my car rpm would be high. And my rpm remained at 4,000 rpm while I was completely stopped at a red light. After work, I went back to my car and started it up, and it idled normally. On the freeway, I drove it home at about 65 mph as if nothing had happened. My mechanic said to bring it back to his shop so he can adjust the cable. I want to know what you believe to be the issue. Thanks
Well, of course you want to see if the cable's binding it might need to be replaced. Other than that you can get carbon build up so you might try my video. Make your car run better with the little spray cleaner. Carbon buildup will make them stick too
