Ignition Broken, how to start?

Aloha I have a

2003 Hyundai Santa Fe, with 145k miles, automatic FWD 4 cylinder

I was keeping this as a backup car. And the owner of the community I live at, did not realize it was mine and thought someone had abandoned it at the property.

So he attempted to tow it to the road, to be picked up by the state. He broke a window, and the ignition and steering wheel lock. Now the car wont start from the ignition anymore.

The key at first was turning the ignition but it was very loose, it didnt have that resistance at the end of cycle when car starts.

It does have a chip key.

Is there any way I can still get this car started. There has got to be a way? I called orileys and they can order a ignition cylinder and key from cali, but it comes with non chip keys. How is that going to work when it is originally a chip key??

If I understand you correctly, turn the wheel against the locking mechanism and start the car. Sometimes the locking mechanism prevents the car from starting, making the lock "appear" to be stuck. It's not.
