I’m considering purchasing a hybrid SUV, can you recommend one (2008/2009 Ford Escape, 2007/2008 Lexus Rx 400h, 2007/2008 Toyota Highlander)..? Thanks, Jim

Toyota/Lexus only, and make sure to factor in battery replacement. Don't get the cheap batteries either.

Buying a 16-18 year-old hybrid of any kind is a real gamble, with the spectre of battery and generator replacement, as well as other complex and expensive repairs, nipping at your heels. Scotty has always advised to avoid older used hybrids. If you're intent on taking your chances Toyota makes the best hybrids by far.
