I'm looking to buy a Toyota tundra with 4wd , full size crew cab, trying to stay under 20k. My question is what years and engines would you recommend.

Maybe you should look at your options first. I don't think you're going to have the luxury of being picky.

I think you'll find slim pickings, myself. Maybe a high mileage one. A more reasonable option would be an extended cab with two doors, in otherwords, more work truck-like with 4×4. Just about every truck is a crew cab these days, and they're way more expensive, because they can.
