Has anyone ever gone through the process of importing a NEW or USED car, respectively? I understand it is extremely difficult to do so. And I heard there is a 20-25 year period before a car is eligible to be imported.
There are some foreign models of cars I would be interested in. Models that you can't get in the United States. And I am not even talking exotics. There are some daily driver cars I wouldn't mind driving. But I just can't get them. Are there any tricks or loopholes of the trade, to get a brand new or even slightly used car to the United States at a reasonable price, legally?
The vehicle has to be 25 years old. In other words it has to be 1996 model year or older.

unless you import in bulk, it won't be worth it.
