Are Indian motorcycles any good? I've been looking at the Scout models but I don't want to shop blind.

they sure LOOK good

especially with leather on it

Very true! I'm mostly curious about whether or not they're good motorcycles or junkers that fall apart I've only ever owned a little 4 stroke Yamaha dirt bike and a xt500 Enduro from the 70s. A friend of mine swears by Honda, but I really like the look of the Indian motorcycles. I just don't know much about them. I know my yamaha bikes were nearly bulletproof.

I think they look sweet. Reliable as a Japanese bike? No. More reliable than a Harley? Absolutely.

The guys who own them will tell you they are the best.  They are lying.  If you like the look of old, classic motorcycles and don't mind walking on the side of the road, buy one.  For my money, I would get a Yamaha FJR 1300.  At least I know I'd get there.  Besides, I think there is some kind of law that says you have to be at least 70 years old with a white beard and morbidly obese to buy one.
