Hey Scotty
I have a 2006 Infinitifx35 : awd, automatic Vq35de 3.5 l
I need help with the ac troubleshooting inquiry. I recently replaced the low side discharge line, evacuated the system properly, and vacuumed the system to -30 for 45 min. Recharged it but I'm getting a 45psi on the low and around 5-8psi on the high with the engine running. Clutch is engaged and haven't found a leak. I've cleaned the cabin filter also. Unfortunately, I still have the a/c blowing about 70 degrees and it being around 70° outside. I'm not sure what to check next. Do you think it is the xpt valve ( I hope not) or, something else maybe. I appreciate what you do thnks
Josh
If the expansion valve is stuck open too much refrigerant flows and results in a drop of high side pressure. Never seen it that low though. If the compressor was worn out I'd expect the low side to be too low as well. I'd double-check that your gauge is connected OK and working properly - what does it show as far as static pressure with the AC turned off? (With everything turned off the high and low sides should read the same after they equalize for a while.)
