Hi i have a 2001 toyota 4runner4wd with the 3.4l engine and am wondering if it is interference engine or not i have looked online and have gotten very mixed answers, thanks scotty.

It is a NON-interference engine, I had a 98'. I was wondering the same thing and did a lot of checking.
The 4.7's used in some of the newer 4Runners as well as other toyotas are an interference engine, and will damage the engine if it breaks, or it likely will anyway.
The 3.4 is a great engine, take care of it and it will last a long time.
