Hey Scotty, I have a 1990 Chevy Celebrity with a 3.1 V6 with 109,000 on the odometer. Tried starting it to leave work on Monday and it will turn over but not fire...Tuesday the same....Wednesday it starts right up and I drive home. This is about the third time this has happened. When the mechanic comes, then it will start and shows no trouble codes. I had the fuel pump/filter replaced and the crank shaft sensor. Next all 6 fuel injectors were replace. Then it left me stranded at work as stated above until Wednesday. Have not driven it anywhere since but I have been able to start it in the driveway several times. It does run and idle rough too. What could be wrong?
Try spraying starting fluid into it. Also try the troubleshooting in the FAQ.
Assuming the starter is also ok, what would I look at next to troubleshoot an intermittent starting problem?
Does it start immediately when you jumpstart it?
It does not need to be jump started. Most of the time it will just start up. But other times the starter motor is turning the engine over but it is not starting.
