Hey Scotty and all forum members. I wanted to ask about S350 2006 for my father. He recently sold a Lincoln town car and he used to have LS430 for almost 4 years. He got used to luxury cars and since he had a good experience with the old W140 S class before he is really liking the S350 2006 there is one with about 180,000 miles in very good condition clean no issues at all at the moment. I advised to look at the lexus ES350 2007 but he isn't convinced with it at all since we had it before and he feels it's too light. What is your recommendation and would this mercedes be a good choice if it is well maintained over time? The problem is that his budget is limited And what are the alternatives. BTW he also likes the lexus Ls460 but he is afraid of the brake Actuator issue and the suspension. Would appreciate your inputs on this.
If you buy the Mercedes, get ready for the bills.
If your dad values his wallet he'll go with a Lexus (or even a Toyota Avalon) instead.
If the budget is limited, then I definitely wouldn't get a Benz from that era... especially with that miles. It has "endless money pit" written all over it.
I'm sympathetic, though, about the feel and panache of a big Mercedes. And I suppose that the 350 might be less expensive to fix than the bigger motors. If that's what he wants, maybe keep looking for a lower milage car. Or maybe even hire a Mercedes "Buyer" (they exist) and say you want the most reliable one he can find; he might charge a grand or 2, but might save you money in the long run.
No
Try Lexus GS 350
