I wanted to buy a brand new porch cayenne and I was wondering if it was it good everyday car and is it worth the price
no
The Porsche Cayenne really isn’t a Porsche, IMHO. It’s a VW with Porsche styling.
It shares the same platform with:
| Volkswagen Touareg Audi Q7 |
As well as a few others.
I recommend looking into the reliability of these cars in comparison, since the Cayenne is very similar.
I am not to familiar with VW/Audi engines, so I cant really comment directly. The Cayenne usually has a ZF automatic transmission, which most are relatively reliable.
They do look nice. I just can’t say if they are reliable. Perhaps others have first hand experience with one of similar car on the platform.
Well depends, the newer gen Cayenne's have nothing to do with Porsche since all the engines are from Audi and the 4L Twin-Turbo V8 in the GTS, Turbo, and Turbo S has had their fair share of problems. The first-gen Cayenne had pure Porsche engines. All of them have had their fair share of issues here and there. They can be reliable (as I have seen some high mileage examples with the first-gen Cayenne, and I have a soft spot for the first-gen Cayenne), but you are gonna be spending a fortune on maintaining and repairing the thing. If you value your money, I would not bother putting all that money into a Porsche SUV. If you had to have a Porsche Cayenne, just lease a new one for a few years and then have fun with it, then get rid of it when the lease is up.
