Hi Scotty,
What's your take on Amsoil oil? It is almost twice expensive than most synthetic oil, and they claim it's "100% synthetic". Multiple youtubers tested it and seems pretty impressive.
But is it worth using on cars with normal day-to-day driving?
I want to get the best oil for my car, but not to be overkill if I stay with the 7500 mile change interval.
Thanks,
Nope. There are plenty of smooth running, long lasting cars out there without Amsoil in them.
The only oil you need is what the manual specifies.
I love Amsoil's transmission fluid, it has a reputation for making even bad trannys last much longer than normal. Every time I use it in a transmission, all with well over 100k miles, it makes the transmission shift much smoother, and never had any trouble from any of them. It is noticeably better than even a well rated Valvoline max life atf.
As for their oil, I have used it some in past cars, but honestly, if you use a good synthetic oil, in a good engine, the engine will likely outlast the rest of the car.
