Looking to purchase a new GMC or Chevy 2500 with the gas engine. Durability issues?
The heavy duty GM products are better built than their light duty trucks (Silverado,...). Although the electronics on GM products are not very good. I would consider Ford instead.
93f150, I posted this a while back..."I probably will be buying a truck this Fall. From what I have learned here and elsewhere , I have come to the following conclusion: Toyota is the best auto company and the 2022 Tundra will be updated but I am unsure of what engine to get since the V8 is being phased out. I do not want a turbo-ecoboost at all. The recently updated F150 either 2021 or 2022 has that Coyote V8 so I again don't know what engine to get. Although GM makes poor quality over all, the 2022 updated interior 2500 HD Silverado or Sierra has a better engine and transmission than the 1500 series and Scotty seems to think this is the only decent product GM makes. I will do minimal towing of a boat short distances and occasionally tow a utility trailer so I don't need a Diesel engine. Any thoughts on which of these with which engine would be the better choice. Thanks !"
Scotty replied..."Well if you can afford it the tundra they generally last the absolute longest but if they're not going to offer a V8 then I get the 2500 GM because the 2500s are pretty well made."
I am favoring the GM 2500HD for now.
