I have this 2006 chevy silverado 1500 and I took out the bolts for the flange so it can be louder ,left it open is it ok

If you really mean this, try installing one of these..

You may well find out if the police in your area think it's a good idea, depending on excessive noise laws in your area.

Not the best idea to do. Get a exhaust system if you want a "better" sound. You are not getting any real performance gains.
