Hi Scott I have a 2013 focus se and wanted to increase power and torque I'm building a sleeper car and I want to see if it would be possible for a ford crate engine to work

Thank you sir. 🙂

It would make a nice sleeper car just realize you'd have to do quite a few modifications and change the computer system and software too

How much money do you have to work with? And how reliable do you want to make it?

With these cars you can't just drop a crate motor in. You'll need all new wiring harnesses, new computers, a better transmission and suspension to handle the extra power. I don't deal much in the Ford 2.0 motors here at my shop as nobody really does them due to the cost.

If you want to pursue it, and you want the job done correctly, realize that you will easily be talking $20k dollars and I'm ball parking that as the absolute minimum. No Focus is worth that much. You would be better off finding a used ST and going with that. It would actually be cheaper.

I would say don't do it, but if you are set on it, know it is going to cost and you need to find a shop that has a good reputation for doing swaps like that. It is DEFINITELY not something you can do in the driveway with friends.
