Hows it going? Today i was installing the passenger front tire back on my 02 Toyota Sequoia and i sheered off the lug nut with the stud off the hub. Now i only have 5 installed. Is it safe to drive or do i need to wait until i install a new one to drive it?

Not really, lugs are meant to work together in holding the tire on. With one missing the stress is increased on the other 5, you can have more shear off or work loose. Now you can drive short distances to get someplace like home, or to a shop, stopping and checking them periodically along the way. But I wouldn’t plan on driving it regularly. They are dirt cheap and not hard to swap.

It is better to fix this, you just need to press out the old one and press in the new one. Remember they need to be pressed straight. You can use some key socket for guidance. With 5 you can drive safely but they made 6 for this car cause it is a heavy car. And at higher speeds it can go unbalance itself and go into vibrations. So yeah its better to fix it. They cost less then 1$ a piece so its more of a time consuming change then cash.
