I watched Scotty's video on flushing out the coolant with a water hose and purchased some Prestone Radiator flush to help clean out the cooling system of a 2002 Ford Escort. 2.0 engine. Automatic tranny. 133,000 miles. When I re-watched the video, I started reading the comments below. An older gentleman said that the 2 times that he used a coolant flush, the water pumps were ruined both times. He recommend not using these products. Is there a danger to water pumps when using this product on older vehicles? It's a royal pain to change the pump on this car. No space to remove bolts.
why do you want to use a product? Is there gunk in your system?
@mountainmanjoe
Why do you ask why?
There is some debris coming out but not as bad as expected. This was my mother-in-laws car and was never maintained.
