Hey scotty and friends, is STP oil and oil filter good? Went to autozone and it was a deal for around $23 for 5w-20 and it sounded too good to be true but I still got it for my 2006 hyundai elantra did I make a mistake?
Oil is oil. Consult your owner's manual and make sure the label on the bottle has the specifications your engine needs.
If it has the appropriate API certifications on the label, it's good enough. Actually, it's not an out-of-range price. Costco sells 10 qts synthetic (2-5qt bottles made by Warren) for about the same price. I do wonder, about the packaged STP filter. It's probably one of those hyper-cheap Chinesium products of dubious quality.
I used STP Oil Treatment in Texas in both Mustangs and Camaros in the 60's and 70's. Loved it!
