Hello all,
I'm gonna look for a rev-up motor to fit into my g35 6mt. So far what I know is the engine is a vq35de and will just bolt right into the vehicle if the donor car has the same type of engine despite the year differences. What I also know is to get a low mileage motor like 70k-120k since I plan on keeping the car for a couple of years. I'm taking the gamble because its a Nissan engine I mean what can go wrong.. You just treat them right, right? Regular maintenance and whatnot. Plus the car is BEAUTIFUL. The paint is still frosty white with a strong manual transmission, it shifts like a dream.
Speaking of transmission, I shouldn't be too worried if I treat the gearshift with love too right? OR should I be worried. What other parts should I start replacing to keep the car in great standing?
edit:
Lastly, I want to try to attempt to do the swap on my own if it's really that simple just follow directions, keep order of the steps you took to remove the engine, and apply it in reverse order when putting the new engine in. How difficult is engine swapping? I've seen there are youtube videos and tons of forums online so its possible I suppose.
If doing engine swapping on my own is crazy talk then I'll just pay my mechanic $500 to do it for me, no biggie.
Pay a mechanic to do it for you.
