I've got a 2016 Nissan altima daily driver and just bought a 2012 Nissan Versa How often should I change trans fluid

OK...I get it! CVT no bueno but too late now. My Versa note is for my daughter and is going to go about 5 miles a day and average 20 miles an hour. Still, I want to make sure it gets her through high school and her sister.

My altima is my work/travel vehicle and I put the mileage on it. I want to maximize the life.

How often should I change the trans oil in these CVT transmission to do my best to keep them running?

@r4nier anything particular in the service manual for these transmissions?

If your owner’s manual doesn’t offer guidance, change it religiously every 30,000 miles and use only the OEM fluid.

If it has a filter, replace that too.

No more than every 30,000 miles on those.  Our gearbox expert @Dan might even say every 20,000-30,000 miles.  Those CVTs are a weak point on those vehicles, so you need to be on top of those fluid changes more often.  Also, baby it, don’t tow with it or drive hard, with highway miles better than city miles.
