Hello Scotty, Im wondering if Jaguar X-type 2.2d 2007 europe model with 300 000km is a good choice for 3000eur. This model has engine from Ford Mondeo which is reliable as far as I know. What do you think?

Thanks

Please don't. You'll end up spending far more money trying to fix it than the car is worth.

If it were the petrol engine, I’d say hell no. This YouTuber got one cheap and ended up with some head gasket problems:  https://youtu.be/q3_kDiQb7lE

Not sure about the diesel. Diesel are usually built stronger, but since the X-type diesel is already turbo charged, who knows? I personally wouldn’t gamble on it, unless I was ready for to do my own mechanic work to repair or maintain it.

Generally, diesels can handle turbos as they are built to handle the pressure and without a turbo, a diesel car would be quite sluggish.

That said, I do not know of the reputation of that Jag's diesel so I wouldn't risk it.

Do not buy old euro cars with high mileage.

The are endless money pizzas.
