My niece has 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 3.7l with 105k.
when I drive the Jeep and turn on cruise control it will work fine for a while. You can set the speed at any speed, you can increase or decrease, you can tap the brakes and it drops off. All like it should.
But sometimes cruise control drops off by itself. Then you can turn it back on anymore until you stop and turn the Jeep off and back on. Also it won’t stay on for long.
I checked the vacuum hoses and they look fine. Pushed them all on and are fine. Pulled the tube off the vacuum reservoir and it has suction. I don’t know how to check the cruise control servo (module) so tried to order it from Mopar and Napa but the say it is not manufactured anymore. It sounds like an electronic heat problem maybe?
Not sure what to do. Love your program.

Definitely an electronic problem and it is not uncommon for FCA products when they age.
Thank you.
I would suspect the brakes. Have you replaced your rotors and pads recently? A caliper that is sticking slightly might do this.
Wow I’ll look into that, never thought that.
